Tamika Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), the owner of Urban Collective Counseling, LLC (a mental health practice), in Denver, Colorado, and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Tamika is a certified yoga teacher and obtained her 200-hour teacher training certificate from Satya Yoga Cooperative in 2018. In addition, she completed a 200-hour Grieving Mindful teacher training with the Grief Support Network in 2020.
Prior to becoming a Mental Health Clinician, she worked as a youth case manager working with high-risk youth and their families in diverse settings. She has extensive experience working with youth and young adults. Tamika enjoys utilizing an integrative approach in her therapy practice, primarily using a Person-Centered, Mindfulness, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy approach.
She is passionate about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and taking a passenger-seat approach to the therapy process. Having worked in underserved communities for years, she enjoys helping clients with adjusting to their current stage of life.
Tamika is dedicated to her community and has volunteered and served on various boards and community organizations throughout Colorado. She is committed to bringing Change and welcomes the opportunity to work with the unique issues that many POC youth and their families face.
Moreover, Tamika is the mother to 4 sons and loves spending time with her children, family, and friends. She enjoys cooking, trying new foods, laughing, and being a daughter of Christ.
